TALENT PRESENTATION - 20 Points each contestant is expected to entertain the judges and the audience. Judges are evaluating the quality of lip-sync, live vocal, dance ability or other entertainment. Execution and Appeal are most important. Do not attempt to do something that is beyond your talent. If you use dancers or actors in your presentation, do not let them upstage or out dance you. Everything that is placed on stage will be judged. Costuming and set design should reflect the mood you are trying to establish. Always examine the talent presentation for entertainment value. Does it please, cause laughter, sadness or stir some other emotions? Music must be on a high quality CD and must be the only item burned onto that CD.

"Show Number" talents will be judged accordingly and carry a minimum score. Make sure your talent selection tells a story and represents your desire to be a National Title holder.

On Stage Interview – 20 Points

The purpose of On Stage Interview is to put the contestant in a situation answering a diverse type of questions and judging how he/she will react and respond when speaking directly to their peers. The context of the answer and how the contestant conveys the answer is most important. Eye contact with all the judges is very important, not just the judge who asked the question. Answer the questions directly and do not engage in the opinions of the judge. You are being judged on the presentation of your thoughts concerning community and world affairs. Each contestant will also be judged on his/her chosen attire for interview. The contestant should look comfortable in properly fitted, professional attire. Points will be deducted for ill-fitting jackets, pants too long or short, socks that do not match the colors in the outfit, scuffed shoes, wrinkled, torn, or soiled clothing, buttons missing, and/or anything that distracts from the outfit achieving a overall professional look.

We are looking for thoughtful, honest responses, not pageant clichés.
