RULES AND REGULATIONS
RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR COMPETITION
1. To compete for the titles under Black America Pageantry System, contestant must be 21 years of age on the date of competition. Contestants must be a part of the LGBTQ++ community and willing to work and/or speak at community events.
2. Judging will be on a High/Low point system. Category ties will be honored with an award to everyone. Ties for final placements will be broken by asking a question of the affected contestants and Judged on a 0-10 standard.
3. Contestants will be judged in the following categories: Interview, Presentation, Presentation Speech, Sportswear, Evening Wear, Talent.
4. Cash Prize and Award will be given to Winner, First and Second Runner Ups. Third and Fourth Runner Up will receive a recognition award.
5. Talent presentation will be limited to (7) minutes TOTAL. This is inclusive of prop set-up and breakdown. Any talent that exceeds this time limit will result in a deduction of administrative points up to (5) points off the total final score for each minute exceeding the limit.
6. Any talent presentation is acceptable, except those presentations that might cause injury to the audience or to other contestants. Pyrotechnics are not allowed. NO FIRE OR LIQUIDS, FOG MACHINES, including but not limited to water, WHATSOEVER. NO GLITTER, NO COFFETTI. Any violators will receive a zero (0) in the category for which this regulation violation occurred.
7. The use of or dispensing of illegal drugs (including marijuana) will not be tolerated while a contestant is participating in the pageant. Immediate disqualification will result for those who break this rule. No excessive alcohol use is permitted by the contestant or helper. Anyone found to be excessively DRUNK during the contest, will be disqualified from placement.
8. Any contestant that is late for any category will lose Administrative points off the total score per incident. (Up to 5pts)
9. Contestants are allowed (1) Helper, AT ALL TIMES, 1 WARNING and then administrative point deduction per violation.
10. If any contestant, contestant’s dancer, helper, etc. is caught in the act of stealing or tampering with another person’s property, that contestant will be disqualified and removed from the location of the Pageant. Contestant Dancers or extras are the responsibility of the contestant. If they are found to be disruptive (Verbal or Physical) during the contest, they will be banned from participation and escorted out of the contestant area.
11. All Top 5 Finalist must remain onstage after crowning for picture taking. Failure to take pictures will be considered a forfeiture of awards and prize money.
12. Entry by a contestant who is currently in open criminal proceedings that limits your travel capacity will be denied entry as a contestant into any Official Black America Pageants. A contestant who has successfully completed felony probation, or whose criminal case is dismissed, will be eligible to enter.
13. Competition music must be submitted in quality condition (i.e properly labeled and with no damage that affects “play” and only one tract per device is preferred). Any substandard music submitted that is deemed to be the fault of the contestant will receive administrative point deductions. A back-up will be required should your original is deemed to be “damaged”.
14. Competition check in roll call will be strictly enforced; any contestant who is late for check in will receive administration point deduction. One point for every Thirty-minute interval.
15. Plus Contestant: Height / Weight requirements 0 - 5’11 ft Height 215 lbs without padding and 6’0 ft Height or more 225 lbs without padding.
Black America Pageantry System reserves the right to make any decision concerning any matter not covered by these Rules and Regulations with prior notification to the contestants.
