CATEGORY DESCRIPTIONS - MR / MISS / PLUS DIVISIONS

Individual Interview – 20 Points

The purpose of Interview is to put the contestant in a situation answering a diverse type of questions and judging how he/she will react to their diversity. The context of the answer and how the contestant conveys the answer is most important.  Eye contact with all the judges is very important, not just the judge who asked the question. Answer the questions directly and do not engage in the opinions of the judge. You are being judged on the presentation of your thoughts concerning community and world affairs. Each contestant will also be judged on his/her chosen attire for the interview. The contestant should look comfortable in properly fitted, professional attire. Points will be deducted for ill-fitting jackets, pants too long or short, socks that do not match the colors in the outfit, scuffed shoes, wrinkled, torn, or soiled clothing, buttons missing, and/or anything that distracts from the outfit achieving an overall professional look.

We are looking for thoughtful, honest responses, not pageant clichés.
